A collection of British and American classics spanning the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries (including
a word search capability for the entire collection).
The
University of Virginia's Electronic Text Center
A large collection of text versions of British and American works of literature. Far too many titles to list here,
but it includes literary texts by writers such as Melville and Milton, and historical texts including scans of
slave trading posters and personal letters. Very interesting collection. (Warning: a few of these texts are
only accessable to UVA students and faculty.)

Part of the Bartleby site. This has a search engine to find any quote on the subject of your choice.

University. The site includes Mark Twain's essay on the Philippines and "The White Man's Burden" by Rudyard
Kipling (including assorted critical essays, parodies and political cartoons that were sparked by Kipling's poem).
