EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (ECE) COOPERATIVE WORK EXPERIENCE
Grades: 12
Prerequisite: Successful completion of a
minimum of 2 Early Childhood College Tech Prep courses with the grade of B or
better.

WCC Credit: This course is the high
school equivalent of Whatcom Community College’s, Co-op 180, Preparing for
Work-Based Learning and ECE 190, Cooperative Work Experience. College Tech Prep credit is available. (2 college credits)
Requirements: This course is an advanced level Child Development
course designed for students who want to work with young children. Students
will complete a Learning Contract that will identify their goals for the
semester-long, paid or non-paid work experience in a community based, licensed
childcare center. Students who receive
a “B” or better grade and complete the required competencies for the class will
earn both high school and college credit.
Positive attendance history is required. Transportation to the site is the responsibility of the student.
