Sehome High School Dance Agreement
2009-10 School Year
The
following agreement must be adhered to during a Sehome High School dance. Your signature indicates that you have read
this agreement and agree to the following:
General
· All students must sign and
submit the Dance Agreement form in order to attend a school dance.
· Tickets are pre-sale only.
Tickets will not be sold at the door.
Tickets will only be sold to students with an ASB card with photo ID.
· Students may not transfer
tickets to other students.
· Bellingham School District
and Sehome High School policies apply at all times to all school-related
activities.
· Dances will begin at 9:00 PM
and conclude at 12 AM. Students must enter the dance no later than 10:45 PM. A Sehome High School administrator must
approve exceptions to the arrival time in advance. Once
students leave the dance, they may not re-enter.
· Coats, hats, purses,
backpacks, etc. are not allowed into the dance and must be checked in at the
coat check table.
· Students are expected to be
in the dance or off school site.
· Students removed from the
dance or denied entry must leave the premises; no refund will be given.
Alcohol/Drugs
· If a dance supervisor has reasonable suspicion that a student is in
violation of the district alcohol policy, the student will be given the
opportunity to be tested with a passive alcohol detection device
administrated by a Sehome High School administrator.
· Students who test positive, or who refuse to submit to a
test with the alcohol detection device, will be escorted by a police officer
and a school administrator to a private area for further investigation.
This could result in the administration of a Breathalyzer test by the police
officer.
· The administrator at the
dance will address any other suspicion
of drug use such as marijuana, etc. by students, per district policy.
· Police will be dispatched for any violation of the school district
drug/alcohol policy.
· If, at any point a student
is determined to be under the influence of or in possession of drugs or
alcohol, the student will be arrested for
breaking the law and a parent or guardian will be contacted to escort the
student home. The student will also be subject to additional disciplinary
consequences.
Behavior
· Students that exhibit any behavior that is inappropriate or may
potentially harm them or any student around them may be removed from the dance. Behavior that is considered inappropriate
under this policy includes, but is not limited to:
o
Bending, leaning over,
thrusting, inappropriate touching between students, simulating sex acts.
o
Excessive display of
affections.
o
“Moshing,” dancing in a “mosh pit,” slamming,
etc. where students are violently pushing or shoving others.
o
Crowd surfing, passing
students overhead or through the crowd, etc.
o
Running through or around
the dance area.
o
Dancing so tightly together
as a group that a dance supervisor cannot pass freely through students.
· This agreement is considered
the one and only warning for dancing
inappropriately. Students who are
dancing inappropriately will be removed from the dance. Once a student leaves the dance, the school
is not responsible for the student or his/her actions. The student will not be allowed to attend
future Sehome High School sponsored dances and may also be subject to school
discipline.
Dress
Code
· Students are expected to be
dressed appropriately according to the Sehome High School dress code
guidelines.
· Clothing, especially shirts,
that advertises beer, alcohol, contraband, or tobacco, is decorated with
obscene phrases (comments), or any language that my be interpreted as abusive
or vulgar, may not be worn.
· Students must be
appropriately attired at all times during the dance; shirts must be worn.
Guests
· The Guest Pass section of this agreement must be completed no later
than two school days prior to the dance.
· Guests over 20 years of age are not permitted to attend a Sehome High
School dance. Middle school students,
regardless of age, are not permitted to attend a Sehome High School Dance.
· Guest students must enter
and leave with their host.
· Guests must show photo ID at entry.
· Sehome High School students
are responsible for the behavior and demeanor of their guests. Sehome students are responsible for informing
guests of all Sehome behavior and dress rules.
