Deadline:  9/15/2007  Amount:  12-15 up to $15,000

Eligibility:  JUNIOR, proof of legal blindness, U.S. Citizenship, be college bound

                      statement, transcript & test scores, FAFSA (optional), apply at end of jr year, selections

Shift into Safety - State Farm Grant Program

Deadline:  10/20/2006        Amount:   $2,000 - $5,000 

Eligibility:  9-12, open to team of students & teachers, must relate to teen-driver safety issues

Criteria - Procedures:  Applications are limited to no more than 5 pages, all questions on applications must be     completed.  Must implement safety campaign you develop before the end of the '06-'07 school year.  Money is to implement campaign.  Contact Career Center.

 

Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans

Deadline:  10/30/2006        Amount:  $2,500 to $20,000           

Eligibility:  SENIOR, intending to pursue bachelor's degree (may begin at 2-yr & transfer to 4-yr), financial need

($50,000 or lower adjusted gross income per family), involvement in co-curricular and community service              activities, minimum GPA of 2.0, US citizen or permanent resident

Prudential Spirit of Community Awards-  NASSP

Deadline:  10/31/2006        Amount:  $1,000 to $5,000  NOMINATION REQUIRED!

Eligibility:  9-12 grades, has engaged in a volunteer activity since Sept. 2005.

Criteria - Procedures: Submit an application that outlines a particular community service project that you are most proud of and has made a substantial impact on your community.

ROTC Scholarship Program - Air Force, Army, Navy

Deadline:          11/1/2006          Amount:  $16,000-$80,000  Congressional Nomination!

Eligibility:            JUNIOR/ SENIOR, Academic Achievement, SAT score: 920+; able to serve in the military following graduation from college

Procedures:                        ROTC scholarships provided by each of the Military Branches and on websites for each branch.  See

Eligibility:  SENIOR. Academic Achievement, 3.0 GPA, Active involvement in service project, US citizen; plan to

                        pursue an undergraduate degree at an accredited 4-yr college in the U.S.  NOTE: students related to

Eligibility:  SENIOR, Several scholarships available! Leadership or activism in promoting the dignity and human

                        rights of gay or lesbian students. Some have specific focus such as interest in health care, etc.
