Welcome to Mr. Ferguson's native plants of Whatcom County Unit. The picture above is part of the beautiful Connelly
Creek trail near Sehome High School made to connect Joe's Garden to Sehome. Sehome Biology students and Western
Washington University students work on this trail together during the Fall. The classes have removed large areas
of blackberry bushes that surrounded the trail and planted in their place, plant species native to the Puget Sound
area. Greenways has been a tremendous help by providing plants, mulch, and tools. Students become very familiar
with these native plants during the first semester.
